Learning to how to better your jump shot can become very frustrating. That is why it is very important when learning to develop a pure jump shot is to understand the fundamentals of shooting and to read up on players that master the art of shooting. Once you have developed a better shot, you will have increased your chancing of knocking down the open shot. You may also learn how to get your shot off when be tightly guarded.

When developing a better shot, it will be vital to come up with a daily workout plan that will help you to maintain you’re newly develop jump shot. Also, you will need to find out your shooting range and the best way of figuring that out is to do a lot of repetitions. Would I mean by that is going to the gym and constantly shooting from enclose and work your way out to the 3 point line. So you can see where you are comfortable and uncomfortable spots are on the court. And according to that you will work on not your strengths but also your weaknesses and that could be the 3 point shot or mid range jumper.

If you ever get in a situation when you lose confidence in your jump you should always go back to the beginning to be sure your mechanics are correct. The reason that most shooters have trouble shooting the ball 99% of the time it is do to there mechanics. Great shooters always make sure that there mechanics are always fine tuned.

If you ever decided to hire a shooting coach to help you to perfect your shot, you should always ask questions about shooting to see if they have any advice that may help you. Most shooting coaches are not afraid to share information.

Another way to get some good advice on shooting is by researching online for shooting manuals. If you decide to buy one be sure that it is exactly what you want. Also talking with other people that have played basketball at higher levels then you could probably offer some great advice on shooting. However, there will be times when you may be in the gym playing pick up ball with other people and you may just want to strike up a conversation on shooting. And just by conversation you could find out a lot about becoming a better shooter.

There are some players that do not like to spend countless hours in the gym working on there shot. One thing that I would suggest is to come up with a 30 to 40 minute workout plan just on shooting and you would probably add in at least 1 break during the workout. And you will be surprise of how efficient this will be comparable to your normal 1 to 2 hour workouts that most people do maybe once a week.
