Jimmy Clausen Punched – Notre Dame Loses

Jimmy Clausen punched outside a South Bend restaurant. Maybe the fan had all his bets placed on the Notre Dame game. It doesn’t seem fair to blame the loss on one single player, but nonetheless Jimmy Clausen punched is the sad result. Honestly people, no one should react like this. It is after all…Just a game!
Notre Dame’s loss to Connecticut wasn’t a big deal. One of them had to lose as is usually the case. Maybe it’d have been more fortunate for Jimmy Clausen, had his team been tied with Connecticut.
Perhaps this is a result of the massive job layoffs in Indiana state. People are so victimized by the unemployment they must take it out on a local sports hero, with Jimmy Clausen punched in the face by an irate fan. Sad.
I didn’t watch the game, but this incident has nonetheless been made well-known enough for those of us who didn’t watch to be made aware of the depravity of fans. If you are so mad at your team for losing that you have to react in a violent way, then you my friend may need the help of an anti-depressant.
Society needs to adjust it’s priorities on it’s children so that sports events do not become an excuse to hurt another in the name of entertainment. Fun shouldn’t have to mean shameful actions perpetuated by zealous fans.
