Patriots Would be Able to Write the Most Glorious History in the Nfl

The new history which is about to be written in golden letters by the New England Patriots in case they win the Super Bowl XLII is due to the extraordinary balance the team has shown between a powerful offensive and a very capable defensive. We can actually compare the Patriots to the Miami Dolphins team of the 1972-1973 Super Bowl that was led by the “Master” Bob Griese.

Tom Brady who is cold-hearted, calculating, and a very wise quarterback, heads the Patriots. These two extraordinary players carry in their jerseys the number 12 the one thing that marks a difference between them is that Brady has played all the games of the season, something Griese could not achieve as he suffered a right leg fracture.

The 1972 Dolphins were a great team that destroyed the rival defensives with a powerful Csonka that finished that year with 1117 yards and six runs for touchdowns. Morris added one thousand yards that season and had 12 runs for touchdowns and kicks accumulated 521 yards.

On the other hand, the New England quarterback led until the end of this season in earned yards by air with 4806, and achieved new records of connecting 50 passes from touchdown. While, Griese only obtained 638 yards by air, four shipments for annotation and four interceptions.

The Miami best receiver just then was Warfield, who concluded that brilliant year with 606 yards and three touchdowns, while Lawrence Maroney, the Patriots runningback, accumulated 835 yards and six touchdowns.

Although; the NFL has changed a lot in the last 35 years, the greatness of these two teams cannot be compare to anything similar. The “nameless defensives” of the Dolphins and New England are specialists in stealing balls; intercepted passes, and overall strategies but there is an air we can sense that New England might go further and began a new era in the sport of football.
