Manchester United set to lose Vidic

It is very rare that Sir Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United manager buys during the January transfer window, let alone sell, which could be the case in the next few weeks.

Nemanja Vidic, the United central defender looks to be heading in the same direction as his former colleague Cristiano Ronaldo and join Spanish giants Real Madrid for around £25 million. United also look to be targeting a striker as back up for Michael Owen, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney and is seems that Hulk, who plys his trade in the Spanish League La Liga may be the top target although he will not be sold for less than £20 million and is unproven at the highest level.

The best bookmakers still make United second favourites for the title at odds of 2/1 which, after their shock exit against Leeds United in the FA Cup makes the price and timing highly interesting.
